Team Canada opened the WBSC U23 Men’s World Cup with a 3-1 victory over Denmark. After four scoreless innings and leaving a runner on base in each of them, Canada got on the board with a run in the fifth and added two more in the seventh to earn the win.

Team Canada opened the scoring when Blake Brubacher led off wit a single, was sacrificed to second by Danny Scott, moved up to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Max Major. The red and white took advantage of a throwing error and added two insurance runs in the seventh, with Nick White bringing a run in on a hard single off the pitcher and later scored on a single by Connor Brooks. Nic Neid held Denmark without a hit through six innings.
Notes:
- Nick White was the catalyst at the top of the lineup with three hits, a run scored and a run batted in.
- Max Major and Connor Brooks each singled and drove in a run.
- Tyler Branchaud doubled and walked twice.
- Blake Brubacher singled and scored twice.
- Nic Neid earned the complete game win, allowing one run on only three hits with 13 strikeouts.
