Team Canada came out strong to open the playoff round at the 2025 Canada Cup, defeating TC Colorado 7–3 behind timely hitting early on and a pair of home runs in the fifth inning helped break the game open, while Canada’s pitching staff held off any late threats to secure the win.
Key Moment:
With two outs in the bottom of the fifth and Canada clinging to a 4-3 lead, Zoe Hicks launched a solo home run to spark the offense. Janet Leung followed with a walk, setting the stage for Natalie Wideman, who crushed a two-run homer to center field, giving Canada a 7-3 cushion. Dawn Bodrug then shut the door on TC Colorado, retiring the final six batters in order to seal the win.
