Guatemala City, Guatemala - Canada was unable to keep the magic run going in the final of the 2022 WBSC Women’s Pan American Championship against Team U.S.A as they fell in their third game of the day 12-1.

Canada gave up six runs in the first inning and two runs in the second inning to trail 8-0 early.

The offense was able to get runners on every inning but could not capitalize in the early innings to push any runs across.

Erika Polidori (Brantford, Ont.)  had the lone run-scoring single for the Canadians in the top of the fourth when she lined a home run to left field.

That run was not enough though as Team U.S.A was able to score two more runs in the fourth inning to end the game via the mercy rule the final in four innings, 12-1.

This tournament will end the 2022 season for Team Canada, but they are already looking forward to being back in action next summer.
