Team Canada exploded for five runs in the fifth inning to break a scoreless tie and defeat the Netherlands 6–1 in playoff action at the 2025 Canada Cup. With the win, Canada advances to the gold medal game, set for Saturday, July 13 at 6:00 p.m. PDT / 9:00 p.m. EDT.
Key Moment:
After a pitching change by the Netherlands in the fifth, Canada’s offense found its rhythm. Natalie Wideman opened the scoring with a single up the middle to bring home Janet Leung. Larissa Franklin followed with a single to right, scoring Callum Pilgrim and Wideman. CC Wong then delivered a two-run homer to cap the five-run inning.
