Passing of Glenn Reeve

Softball Canada is saddened to learn of the passing of Glenn Reeve on December 5, 2025.

"Glenn Reeve played a vital role in the development and advancement of Softball Canada over his tenure on the board of directors and as president of the association" stated Softball Canada CEO Mike Branchaud. "His strong organizational leadership led to the establishment of the national team program that became a world leader in our sport. Glenn was very involved with the world governing body and properly represented Softball Canada's interests on the international stage. We are so fortunate for all the time he devoted to our sport. We send our condolences to his family and friends in this difficult time."

Glenn Reeve was a director of Softball Canada for eighteen years and president from 1986 to 1990. During his early years on the board, Glenn headed the national team program where in 1981, he engineered the development of the national team concept. During the same period, he was team leader of the women's national team which in 1983, won the Pan American Games gold medal. In 1986, the same team finished 4th in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup).

While president, Glenn initiated and supervised the reorganization of Softball Canada's administrative structure. Softball Canada also hosted two WBSC World Cups and a WBSC Congress. As a member of the board, Glenn supervised fifteen Canadian Championships in both fast pitch and slo-pitch. 

On the international scene, Glenn represented Softball Canada at four WBSC Congresses, four WBSC World Cups and two Pan American Games. He was also Softball Canada's "A" representative on the board of directors for the Canadian Olympic Association. In 1991, Glenn was appointed assistant chef de mission of the COA's team at the Pan American Games in Cuba and in 1995, he led the COA Pan Am team to Argentina as chef de mission.

Glenn became a member of Softball Saskatchewan's Honour Role in 1987 and was inducted to into the Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame and the Softball Canada Hall of Fame as a Builder in 1998.
