Canada’s U18 Women’s National Team Arrives in Monteria, Colombia for the 2024 Pan American Championship

Monteria, Colombia - The Canadian U18 Women’s National Team has landed in Monteria, Colombia, gearing up for the highly anticipated 2024 U-18 Women’s Softball Pan American Championship scheduled to unfold from March 30 to April 6. Hosted at Jorge Amin Manzur Stadium, this event will witness the participation of eleven teams vying for the V Pan Am U18 Women’s Championship title. Additionally, this event will serve as the continental qualifier for the 2024 WBSC World Cup Group Stage.  

Ranked 5th internationally, Canada has been placed in Group B during the preliminary round, alongside No. 3 Puerto Rico, No. 11 Cuba, No. 17 Venezuela, No. 23 Brazil, and No. 62 U.S. Virgin Islands. Team Canada’s opening game is scheduled for Saturday March 30th, against U.S. Virgin Islands at 2:30PM local time (3:30PM EST).  

Group A will include No. 7 Mexico, No. 16 Peru, No. 29 Argentina, No. 33 Dominican Republic and No. 39 Colombia.

Following the completion of the preliminary round, the top three teams from both Group A and B will advance to the Super Round. The top five teams in the final standings will secure spots to the WBSC U18 World Cup Group Stage scheduled later this year.  

The five teams earning spots in the WBSC U18 Women’s Softball World Cup Group Stage will be allocated as follows: one spot for Group A in Sao Paulo, Brazil (July 23-27, 2024), two spots for Group B in Pingtan, China (August 14-18, 2024), and two spots for Group C in Dallas, USA (August 29-September 2024).
