Chengdu, China. - The Quick Story:  

Canada came all the way back from an early 7-1 deficit to defeat Singapore and punch their ticket to the semi-finals of The World Games in Chengdu, China. Canada’s offence was sparked by timely homeruns in the third and fifth innings, while Sean Cleary settled things down in the pitcher’s circle over the last three innings to put Singapore away.

Key Moments:

Singapore wasted no time offensively by scoring four runs in the top of the first, two in the second and one in the third to build a 7-1 lead. Canada started chipping away in the bottom of the third when Ty Sebastian hit a two-run homerun, then the red and white added three more in the fourth on an RBI double by Mitch McKay who later scored on a wild pitch and took advantage of an error to score another run and cut the lead to 8-6. Max Major put Canada on top with a 3-run homerun in the fifth, and Sean Cleary held Singapore to only one hit and struck out eight to seal the victory.
