Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada is pleased to announce the list of thirty-four (34) athletes who have been named to the 2019 Women’s National Team Athlete Pool and the thirty (30) athletes who have been invited to attend a Selection Camp in Fort Myers, Fla. in January 2019.
 
The Women’s National Team is coming off an impressive summer, capturing the Gold medal at the Canada Cup International Softball Championship in Surrey, B.C. and earning Bronze at the WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship in Chiba, Japan. The 2019 season will feature a pair of high-profile events, as Canada will compete both in the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru and the WBSC Americas Olympic Qualifier.
 
“2018 was an exciting summer and we saw some impressive team and individual performances” said Mark Smith, Softball Canada’s High Performance Director and Head Coach for the Women’s National Team. “Now it’s back to the gym to put in the miles and work to get ready for what will be an extremely competitive camp in January.”
