Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada is pleased to announce the list of athletes who have been selected to represent Team Canada at the 2023 Men’s and Women’s Slo-Pitch Border Battle. The 13^th edition of the Border Battle is scheduled to take place from July 28 to 30. Both Canadian teams will engage in a series of exhibition games leading up to the ultimate showdown against Team U.S.A.

The list of athletes selected to participate was chosen by the coaching staff and a panel of Slo-Pitch experts from across the country. Performance at provincial, national, and international events was used as one of the major contributors to the selections.

The Men’s coaching staff will consist of Mike Hyrnenko (Winnipeg, Man.), who will serve as head coach, with Mike Neufeld (Abbotsford, B.C.), serving as assistant coach.

The Women’s staff is comprised of head coach, Tony Carnelos (Georgetown, Ont.), and former Border Battle athlete, Amanda Howard (Strathmore, Alta.) as the assistant coach.

Following their loss against Team U.S.A in 2022, both Canadian teams are fueled with determination and eagerly seek redemption in this year’s edition of the Slo-Pitch Border Battle.
