Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada is thrilled to announce two individuals, Vanessa Kosteroski (Sask.) and Larissa Franklin (B.C.), to its Board of Directors.
Vanessa Kosteroski, recently honored as Softball Canada’s Rose Hodgson Volunteer of the Year, brings a wealth of experience and passion to her new role. Elected to a one-year term at the most recent Annual General Meeting (AGM), Kosteroski has a proven track record of leadership and dedication to the sport at the grassroots level, including several years of service as President of the Saskatoon Minor Softball League (SMSL).
Larissa Franklin, an Olympian and member of Canada’s Women’s National Team, joins as the Athlete Board Representative, marking a historic moment for Softball Canada. Appointed to a one-year term, Franklin becomes the first athlete representative to serve on the Board under the organization’s recently updated governance structure and bylaws, further strengthening the voice of athletes in the leadership of the sport.
Additionally, Jackie Dugger (B.C.) was re-elected to a one-year term, while Brooks Penrod (Sask.), Bob Stanton (N.B.), and Kareena Zanolli (Alta.) were re-elected to three-year terms. They join current board members Robb Andison (Y.T.), Neil Teague (Ont.), and Softball Canada President Scott Neiles (Man.).
Their additions result in a nine-member Board of Directors following Softball Canada’s bylaws and ongoing commitment to excellence, innovation, and inclusivity in guiding the future of the sport across the country.
