OTTAWA, August 6, 2018 - Softball Canada is extremely pleased to report that Sara Groenewegen has been released from hospital, after a serious bout of pneumonia, and is now back at home. She is recovering well and she and her family wish to thank all those who kept her in their thoughts and prayers. The family would also like to thank Dr. Gunning and the ICU team at Royal Columbian Hospital. Their expertise was instrumental in Sara’s recovery.

“We are both relieved and delighted by Sara’s recovery, she is a true battler and with the help of her family and supporters I’m sure she is already planning her return to the diamond” stated Softball Canada CEO Hugh Mitchener.

Given Sara’s positive recovery there will be no requirement for further statements to be issued.
