Monteria, Colombia - The Quick Story:
Team Canada finished fourth at the 2026 Men’s Softball Pan American Championship after a narrow 1-0 loss to Venezuela in the bronze medal game. Despite not earning a medal at the event, the Canadian squad successfully qualified for the 2028 WBSC World Cup Group Stage and the Pan American Games.
Key Moments:
The only run of the ball game came in the first inning, when Venezuela got a runner on base with two outs on a hit by pitch, with the runner moving up to second on a wild pitch and scoring on a single. Neither team was able to do much offensively, with Canada managing two hits to Venezuela’s three in a very cleanly played ball game.
Notes:
- Mitch McKay and Quinten Bruce each registered a single for Canada.
- Justin Schofield started in the circle and only allowed one run on two hits with fice strikeouts over four innings.
- Jordan Hudson allowed one hit and struck out two in two innings of relief.
