Prague/Havlíčkův Brod, Czech Republic – The Canadian Men’s National Team is set to compete at the WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship being held in Prague and Havlíčkův Brod in the Czech Republic from June 13 to 23.
Team Canada is coming into the World Championship after winning Gold at the Kelowna May Days tournament last month. At the previous WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship held in Whitehorse, Yuk. in 2017, Canada earned the Bronze medal.
The WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship will feature sixteen (16) teams split into two groups with the top four teams from each group advancing to the single elimination playoff round. The semi-finals will take place on June 22nd while the Bronze and Gold medal games are scheduled to be played on June 23rd.
Team Canada, who is currently ranked #2 in the WBSC Men’s Softball World Rankings, will compete in Group B along with #4 Australia, #6 United States of America, #8 Venezuela, #11 Denmark, #12 South Africa, #19 Netherlands, and #22 Singapore.
Team Canada’s first game will be on Friday, June 14th at 1:30pm CEST (7:30am EDT) against Denmark.
