Softball Canada announces new members of the Officials Development Committee

11 October 2023 Emma Lindblad

Ottawa, Ont. - After receiving seven applications from members across the country, Softball Canada is pleased to announce the new members of the 2023/2024 Officials Development Committee (ODC):

Genevieve Gaudreau (Que.)
Tonya Ribalkin-Zanon (B.C.)
Brent Chadwick (Sask.)
Jason Clark (Alta.)

Genevieve and Brent have agreed to serve for another two-year term.  Softball Canada is grateful for their time, commitment, support, and knowledge to our sport.

Tonya Ribalkin-Zanon, joining the committee and serving for a two-year term, brings a wealth of experience from the K-12 sector as an educator and specializes in working with students with special needs.  Tonya has been a leader in our program – working international events, most recently the 2016 Women’s World Championship, and supervising at Canadian Championships.  We look forward to the fresh perspective that Tonya will bring to the committee including her everyday work with equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Jason Clark will be joining the committee for a one-year term.  He joins the committee with a successful career with Red Bull and has been one of Softball Canada’s leaders in the slo-pitch community, most recently supervising at the Slo-Pitch Canadian Championship in Dorchester this past summer.  Jason will bring a new, energetic, fresh lens to the committee.

“I am very excited to have Brent and Gen continuing on the ODC, their experiences and knowledge will be helpful in this transition,” said Frankie Billingsley, Softball Canada’s National Director of Umpires.  “I am equally enthused to welcome two new folks, Jason, and Tonya, who will bring new, fresh perspectives!  I cannot wait to see what this amazing group of people will do!”

Softball Canada would like to thank Jeff Whipple and Sandra Forand for their years of service on the ODC and for advancing the sport of softball.
