Canada closed the preliminary round with a 5-1 win over Venezuela at the 2025 WBSC Americas U23 Men’s Pan American Championship. The win improved Team Canada’s record to 5-2, placing them just behind Mexico and Argentina, who both sat at 5-1. Due to rain, the final game of the preliminary round between Mexico and Argentina was suspended, and ongoing inclement weather ultimately led to the cancellation of the final day. As a result, Mexico and Argentina were awarded gold medals, while Canada was awarded silver.
Key Moment:
After four scoreless innings, Canada exploded for five runs in the top of the fifth. Alex McGillivray led off with a single, Ryan Bicknell drew a walk, and Nick White followed with a single to load the bases.
