Blue Convention 2025 - Testimonials
Attending Blue Convention since 1999 has allowed me to create great networks of people from across the country who share the same passion for umpiring softball that I hold. The event itself has always been something to look forward to and both learn something new for my tool kit of skills or share something from my toolkit to someone who is looking for a way to advance their skills. Since 2010, I have had the opportunity to share the convention with my wife and now she openly admits to looking forward to attending Blue Convention to see all of her friends that she has made during her visits. Blue Convention is like a large family gathering with much to offer for each and every family member whether its all the learning done during the sessions, the informal learning during the social time at night or even the companion package events for those who love to sight see. Blue Convention is truly for everyone!!! - Brent Chadwick - Saskatchewan
I am going to Blue Convention 2025 (my third such gathering) to learn from some of the best umpire instructors in Canada. The sessions appeal to a wide audience and many are directly applicable to improving on-diamond performance. I want to re-connect with old friends, share past experiences and make some new friends on this umpire journey. I am looking forward to experiencing the western hospitality that Calgary is known around the world for. Hope to see you there. - Alan Johnston - Alberta

Attending the Blue Convention has become part of my growth as an umpire over the years. The workshops that are put on by fellow umpires have helped me to where I am today. It is also a great time to meet fellow umpires I have worked with over the years and to be around some of the best umpires in the world. This has helped me with the drive to get better as an umpire and person with the mentorship of these great umpires. Ron “Soupy” Campbell - PUIC Softball New Brunswick
I remember my first Blue Convention in 1999 held in Richmond B.C., it was such a great experience, I have attended every one since. There’s no better place to meet and mingle with so many peers, renewing or making new lifelong friends. The learning opportunity is second to none, with top notch presenters from across the country and sometimes from around the world. It truly is a fraternity that lasts a lifetime. - Moose Gibson - Saskatchewan
"I look forward to attending Blue each time because it gives me an opportunity to reconnect with friends from across the country, while at the same time providing me with opportunities to learn new things and refresh my memory on others. The social aspect of umpiring is key and Blue provides opportunities for everyone to meet and greet. Bringing together umpires from across the country in this format is key because there is a sense of community and learning." Jen Keller-Nelson - Ontario
