Softball Canada will host a series of Identification Camps across Canada in late May and early June. Athletes born between the years of 2004-2006 are invited to register to attend any of the Identification Camps listed below. The U18 Men’s National Team coaching staff will operate the identification camps with the help of local area National Team players and/or Guest Coaches. Each player will be evaluated on fitness levels, speed, throwing, hitting, defensive play and general softball game play.

The registration fee is $100 per player to attend an Identification Camp. A Rawlings National Team camp shirt will be provided.

A minimum of 10 athletes is needed to operate each Identification Camp. The registration deadline will be 10 days prior to the start of each identification camp. If there are not enough registrants, a full refund will be offered, or players are welcome to transfer to another location.

Following the Identification Camps, the coaching staff will invite up to 30 athletes to attend a Final Selection Camp later this summer (dates and location to be determined). There will be an additional fee for athletes who are selected for the Final Selection Camp, but Softball Canada will cover travel, meal and accommodation costs.

To be eligible to be selected to the team, an athlete must be a Canadian Citizen holding a valid Canadian passport and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (as per Canadian, and countries that the team is travelling to, definitions) and therefore able to travel and train/compete with the team in events both in Canada and internationally. Accommodations will be considered based on applicable law/regulations and rationale.

The final roster will possibly be attending a 2022 WBSC Americas U18 Men's Pan American Championship (event details to be confirmed). The top 4 four teams from that event would qualify for the 2023 WBSC U18 Men's World Cup (date/location to be determined).

Important Note – If an athlete is chosen to represent Canada at either or both events, there will be more player fees that would cover the costs of uniforms, warm-up clothing, travel wear, accommodations, food at the destination, flights, ground transportation at the destination, out of country insurance and full supervision at the event.
