TOURISM
Known as a national sporting capital in Canada, Langford is home to several national and provincial-level teams that play and train in our city, including Rugby Canada, Pacific Football Club, Tennis Canada, Golf Canada, Cycling Canada, Rowing BC, and Boxing BC.
Langford is also known for its parks and trails popular with hikers and walkers alike, including Mill Hill Park, Mount Wells, Thetis Lake Regional Park, and the challenging high-elevation Mount Finlayson. Cyclists enjoy the picturesque multi-use Galloping Goose Trail, formerly a railway line, that moves through urban and rural parts of Langford and is used as a commuter trail to downtown Victoria. The newly-opened Jordie Lunn Bike Park is free to the public and combines elements of dirt jumps, a pump track, skills area, and cyclo-cross and mountain bike trails in one seamless platform. Goldstream Provincial Park is a large nature reserve home to old-growth trees, waterfalls, estuaries, and a Visitor Center and Nature House offering activities such as camping, picnicking, and hiking.
Check out the City of Langford website to learn about the many things Langford has to offer, including recreation facilities, attractions, entertainment, sporting events, parks, and outdoor recreation opportunities.
Langford is only a short, 14 km drive away from Victoria, a famous tourist destination for decades. As a coastal city, Victoria is home to numerous attractions such as the Butchart Gardens, Chinatown, the Fairmont Empress, and the Parliament Buildings, as well as multiple historic sites and a thriving arts and cultural scene. With more restaurants per person than any other city in Canada, Victoria offers many diverse and delicious places and things to eat! Strongly tied to the land and sea, the oldest city in the Pacific Northwest is both the ideal year-round playground for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and a warm and welcoming multicultural city.
