Interested in Becoming a National Team Pool Coach? 

Join us as we launch the High-Performance Coach Development Program, a dynamic and comprehensive opportunity to develop advanced coaching skills and prepare for future roles in Canada’s national coaching pool. This exclusive program is designed for a select group of coaches who are ready to elevate their impact on the game. 

Who Should Attend? 

This program is open to 20 selected coaches. It’s designed for coaches looking to further develop their skills and prepare for leadership roles within national coaching pool or provincial/territorial teams. 

Eligibility: 

  • Applicants who submit a resume and application form 
  • Nominated coaches from provincial/territorial associations  

When do the Sessions Take Place? 

The program consists of three online modules, each lasting 1.5 hours and hosted by Women’s National Team Head Coach Kaleigh Rafter. These sessions will take place on: 

  • January 19th – Module 1: High-Performance Coaching Principles 
  • January 26th – Module 2: Athlete Development and Sports Science 
  • February 2nd – Module 3: Coaching for National-Level Competitions 

Each session will include interactive discussions, case studies, and collaboration on coaching solutions. Please be aware that the program will be delivered in English

Program Commitment 

Coaches must be able to commit to: 

  • Three online modules in January and February (1.5 hours each) 
  • Core facilitator training in their home province/territory 
  • Completion of CAC’s Safe Sport e-learning Module & Making Head Way 
  • Pre-session activities to be completed before each module 

Program Modules 

Module 1: High-Performance Coaching Principles 

  • Explore advanced coaching strategies and leadership techniques. 
  • Learn to build cohesive, high-performing teams. 
  • Case studies and role-play scenarios. 

Module 2: Athlete Development and Sports Science 

  • Dive into athlete training programs, injury prevention, and mental resilience. 
  • Coaching simulations for hands-on learning. 

Module 3: Coaching for National-Level Competitions 

  • Prepare teams for national and international events. 
  • Focus on game strategies, talent identification, and scouting. 

Costs and Additional Information 

  • Cost: There is no fee for this program. 
  • Platform: Online modules will be delivered via Zoom. 
  • Language: Sessions will be conducted in English. 
  • Eligibility: Participants must be over the age of 18 to apply.
