Softball Canada is pleased to announce that an online Instructor and Evaluator National Umpires Certification Clinic will once again be held in January, February and March 2026. The clinic dates are set for six sessions. Each of the six two-hour sessions, led by experienced Softball Canada instructors, will focus on taking the umpire off diamond and teaching the skills of instruction (Preparation, Process and Preparation) and the skills of evaluation (Process and Presentation). 

To be eligible to participate, candidates must be a fully certified Level II umpire and receive a positive endorsement from their provincial or territorial organization.

Clinic Details:

• Registration fee is $225 and includes a digital Instructor/Evaluator manual, access to the Zoom virtual classroom platform and other resources.
• Participants will require access to a computer with high-speed Internet, connectivity, a mic/headset/speakers and a webcam to participate. 
• Meetings will be held over Zoom. Each week a new link will be sent to you for the meeting.
• All assignments will need to be completed before a final standing will be given for the course.
• Sessions will be approximately two hours. If a participant is not in attendance, the expectation will be to review the missed session (recording) and complete any assignment or homework.
• If a participant is to be away from a session, please give your instructors an email or text before the session begins.

• Justin Van Horn - Level 5 FP  (ON)

Dates of the clinic are as follows. All sessions are on Sundays at 11:00 AM EST.

Please note that submitting the completed registration form does not guarantee acceptance into the clinic. Candidates will be notified once they have been accepted into the online clinic.
