Team Canada came out strong in pool play at the 2025 Canada Cup, finishing first in their group with a 4–1 record. Backed by powerful bats and dominant pitching, the team strung together four statement wins, including four run-rule victories and showcased their depth up and down the lineup. Their only loss came in a tight 1–0 battle against Czechia, but Canada quickly bounced back, closing out round-robin action with confidence. With momentum on their side, they now shift focus to the playoff round, poised to make a deep run on home soil.

Game 1: Canada 8 vs. New Zealand 1
Canada opened the tournament in style with an 8–1 win over New Zealand, ending the game in five innings. The offence wasted no time getting started, as Grace Messmer launched a solo home run in the first inning. The second frame saw Logan Forman and CC Wong both crush 2-run homers to break the game open. In the fourth, Kianna Jones added a 2-run double to round out the scoring. Morgan Reimer got the start, giving up just one run on three hits and striking out three over 4.0 innings. Annabel Teperson closed out the game, striking out two in the fifth.
Game 2: Canada 15 vs. Ukraine 0
Canada’s offence exploded again with a 15–0 win over Ukraine, scoring eight runs in the first inning and seven more in the third to seal the run-rule win. Larissa Franklin led off both innings with solo home runs, setting the tone for the game. Zoe Hicks had an outstanding performance with a pair of multi-run doubles (3-RBI and 2-RBI), while Grace Messmer, Kianna Jones, and Peyton Bryden also delivered clutch RBI doubles. In the circle, Annabel Teperson struck out six in two innings before Lauren Schurman came in to close, striking out one in the third.
Game 3: Czechia 1 vs. Canada 0
In a tense battle between two strong pitching staffs, Canada dropped a 1–0 loss to Czechia. The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the seventh, when Czechia hit a walk-off solo home run. Dawn Bodrug was excellent in the start, going 5.0 innings with six strikeouts. Morgan Rackel pitched the final 1.2 innings, allowing just one hit and striking out one.
Game 4 Canada 8 vs. Team BC 1
Canada bounced back with a 8–1 win over Team BC in a rescheduled game. Natalie Wideman hit a 2-run home run in the second, and Larissa Franklin had a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate, including a 2-run homer, driving in two and scoring two herself. Deanna Grahek added a 2-run double to cap the scoring. Morgan Rackel got the start, going three innings and giving up one run on four hits. Annabel Teperson once again handled closing duties with two scoreless innings and one strikeout.
Game 5 Canada 10 vs. SoCal Sting 0
Canada closed out pool play with another dominant offensive showing in a 10–0 win over SoCal Sting. Deanna Grahek drove in five runs with a 2-run double in the second and a 3-run double later in the game, while Peyton Bryden chipped in with a solo shot. Morgan Reimer was dominant in the circle, striking out seven in 3.1 innings and allowing just one hit. Lauren Schurman finished the game with 0.2 innings of work.
