President's Message
On behalf of Softball Canada, our Board of Directors and staff, we are looking forward to two more strong years as we continue to grow and develop our programs across Canada. Programs including Canpitch, Timbits Softball, Coaching, Slo-Pitch, National Teams, Canadian Championships & Officiating continue to grow and develop. The Timbits Softball Program continues to grow across Canada as the Timbits Softball T-shirts are a real hit. Our coaching program is moving forward strongly as our Coaching Committee works diligently in an attempt to develop tools for all our coaches. A focus will take place in 2019 on E-Learning tools. We are developing our implementation plans for our Long Term Player Development Model in all Provinces/Territories and we hope to use this model to develop a standardized approach to athlete development across our country. Our Canadian Championships had an extremely strong showing in 2018 with 163 teams participating.
Our National teams have had strong years in 2017 & 2018 with the Men’s winning bronze in the World Championships in 2017, our Women’s winning bronze in the World Championship in 2018, Junior Men’s placing 4th in the Junior Men’s World’s in 2018 and Junior Women’s coming 4th in the 2017 Junior Women’s World’s. Our Men’s & Women’s Slo-Pitch Teams had another strong showing in the Border Battle Championships. All of these Committees successes and National Team accomplishments are the result of the hard work and dedication of our athletes, staff and many volunteers across Canada. We truly appreciate your continued support. Your unselfish sharing of your time and energy is truly the backbone of our operation. We look forward to another two years of cooperative partnership with you as we strive to bring our sport to the next level.
