Ryan Boland won a bronze medal as a member of Team Newfoundland & Labrador at the 2005 Canada Games and was a two-time All-Star at the U23 Men's Canadian Championships (2007 and 2008), capturing a pair of Gold medals (2006 and 2009) and a Silver medal (2007) in that age category. He got his first taste of the Men's level with the host Roebothan McKay Marshall (NL) team capturing a Silver medal in 2007, and later joined Three Cheers Pub and was named to the Canadian Championship All-Star teams five times between 2011 and 2016. He was a key part of the Three Cheers Pub/Galway Hitmen run of five consecutive Gold at the Men's Canadian Championship from 2012 to 2016. After winning Bronze in 2017, the Galway Hitmen recaptured Gold at the event in 2018 and Boland was named MVP of the Qualifying Round.
Ryan joined the Canadian Men's National Team in 2011 and helped Canada win Gold at the 2012 WBSC Americas Qualifier. He has competed in a total of three WBSC Men's Softball World Championships in 2013, 2015 and 2017, earning Gold in 2015 and Bronze in 2017. In addition, he represented Canada at the 2015 Pan American Games and earned a Gold medal there as well.
In his spare time, Boland enjoys playing ball hockey, ice hockey, and coaching. He plays the game with a high level of intensity and his goals are to keep representing his country and province with pride and to continue to succeed at the National Team level.
