An exciting opportunity exists to join Softball Canada in the role of Head Coach or Assistant Coach in the Women’s National Team Program. The Coaches will work within the Women’s program in pursuit of Podium results. The upcoming calendar includes the 2022 World Cup and qualifying and playing in the 2023 Pan Am Games and 2024 World Cup. There will be an off-season camp in December, 2021 or January, 2022, with additional activities in May/June, 2022. Please note that there will be a separate, later process for Jr. Women’s National Team Coaches for the 2023-2025 cycle.
To be considered for the position, candidates should possess:
- International/Elite softball playing and/or coaching experience;
- Advanced technical knowledge in the areas of Hitting, Pitching, Infield and/or Outfield play;
- Strong communication skills;
- The ability to create and foster a harmonious team environment;
- Availability to travel for extended periods of time domestically and abroad;
- Proficiency in the use of video analysis software applications (considered an asset);
- A valid driver’s licence and passport (required).
Bilingualism (French and English) is also considered an asset.
Coaches must be at the Competition – Development Certified level in Softball’s National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) or have the equivalent level of experience and/or are working towards obtaining their Certified status. Coaches must also complete the CAC Safe Sport Training.
