Softball Canada – Call for Pool Coaches
Women’s National Team Programs
Softball Canada is pleased to invite applications for inclusion in the Women’s National Team (WNT) Coaching Pool. This pool will support the continued development and success of Canada’s high-performance pathway, including the Senior Women’s National Team, Elite Development Team, and U18 and U15 Women’s National Team programs.
The WNT Coaching Pool is designed to identify and engage experienced, collaborative, and athlete-centered coaches who are committed to excellence and the long-term development of athletes within Canada’s high-performance system.
Purpose of the Coaching Pool
Selected coaches will be part of a national pool from which staff may be appointed to various WNT program roles, including:
- Assistant Coach
- Apprentice Coach
- Position-specific or specialist roles (e.g., pitching, catching)
Appointments will be made based on program needs, competition schedules, and targeted development opportunities for both athletes and coaches.
Key Responsibilities
Coaches within the pool may be called upon to:
- Support training camps, identification camps, and competition events
- Collaborate with national staff to implement program standards, systems, and culture
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and high-performance training environment
- Align with Softball Canada’s Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) model and high-performance objectives
Eligibility & Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Relevant coaching certification (NCCP Competition Development or equivalent)
- Experience coaching at the provincial, collegiate, or national level
- Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to athlete development and high-performance pathways
- Understanding of the Canadian softball landscape and international competition standards
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Previous experience in national or provincial team programs
- Exposure to international competition
- Specialized technical expertise
Term
Successful applicants will be named to the Coaching Pool for the 2026–2028 cycle, with potential appointments to specific events or teams made throughout this period.

Selection Process
Submission of this application does not guarantee an interview. Softball Canada reserves the right to interview, appoint, or decline any applicant in the best interests of the association. Softball Canada reserves the right to determine appointments based on the overall needs of the program and may fill positions at its discretion. Due to the anticipated volume of applications, individual feedback will not be provided to applicants who are not selected for an interview or appointment. Only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
