Gaborone, Botswana - Dale McMann (Surrey, B.C.) has been defeated in his bid for a second four-year term as Chairman of the World Baseball Softball Confederation – Softball Division (WBSC-SD). The new Chairman is Tommy Velazquez (Puerto Rico).
 
McMann had previously been elected President of the International Softball Federation in 2013. The position subsequently became Chairman of the Softball Division of the World Baseball Softball Confederation. Prior to that, he served as a member of the Board of the International Softball Federation since 1993 and was the President of Softball Canada from 1990 to 2001.
 
“Dale is an extremely hard working individual who devoted countless hours every year developing softball worldwide” stated current Softball Canada President Kevin Quinn. “Dale played a vital role in getting women’s softball back on the Olympic program in 2020. He dedicated the last 24 years of his life to growing and supporting softball in all regions of the world. His expertise will be missed in the softball community.”
