Chengdu, China. - The Quick Story:
Team Canada will play for bronze at The World Games after a 6-1 loss to Japan in a highly competitive game on Saturday. Japan broke the game open by scoring four runs with two outs in the bottom of the fifth, while the Canadian offence was kept mostly quiet despite having runners on base throughout the game.
Key Moments:
After a quick first inning, Japan got on the board with two runs on the bottom of the second on a run-scoring single and a sacrifice fly. Canada cut the lead to 2-1 with a solo homerun by Bradley Ezekiel in the top of the fourth. With a runner on and two out sin the fifth, Japan got three consecutive run-scoring singles and added a fourth run on a wild pitch to take a 6-1 lead. Canada got leadoff singles to start the sixth and seventh innings but could not bring anyone in to score.

Canada will now face Venezuela in the bronze medal game at 10:00am China Standard time on Sunday (10:00pm EDT Saturday). Japan and the United States will play for gold at 1:00pm China time.
