Along with the rest of the international softball community, Softball Canada mourns the passing of long-time International Softball Federation (ISF) President Don Porter.

"Don Porter was instrumental in growing the game on the world stage and his impact on our sport will carry on for many years to come" stated Scott Neiles, President of Softball Canada. "Softball Canada sends its most heartfelt condolences to Don's family and loved ones."

"It is with great sadness I acknowledge the passing of Don Porter, long time President of the International Softball Federation" added Kevin Quinn, Softball Canada's President from 2001 to 2019. "Don was a man whose whole life revolved around the sport of Softball and he was extremely proud of having Softball become part off the Olympic Program during his tenure. He worked endlessly to achieve that goal and to put Softball at the forefront of of World Sport. Don was one who always treated Softball Canada, and myself as President, with the utmost respect. He had me supervise several World Championships during his Presidency, for which I will be forever grateful. Softball has lost a great ambassador."
