Softball Canada is pleased to announce that an on-line Level IV National Umpires Certification Clinic will once again be held in January and February 2026. The clinic is scheduled for four sessions, each three hours long. Led by experienced Softball Canada instructors, the sessions will cover the psychology of officiating, advanced game management techniques, mechanics, and much more.

Instructors for this Level IV Certification Event are:

• Laura MacMillan - WBSC Level 5  (BC)
• Carla MacKenzie - Level 5 Slo-Pitch (NS) 
• Clinton Harvey - WBSC Level 5 and ODC Member (NS)

To be eligible to participate, candidates must be a fully certified Level III umpire for at least two years and receive a positive endorsement from their provincial or territorial organization. Successful completion of the Level IV clinic results in Level IV Theory certification. A subsequent successful evaluation at a U20 (M) or U19 (W) Fast Pitch or Women’s Slo-Pitch Canadian Championship will lead to full Level IV certification.

 Clinic Details:

• Registration fee is $225 and includes a digital Level IV manual, access to the Zoom virtual classroom platform and all other resources.
• Participants will require access to a computer with high-speed Internet connectivity, a mic/headset and a webcam to participate. 
• If a participant is to be away from a session, please give your instructors an email or text before the session begins.

Dates of the clinic are as follows. All sessions are on Sundays at 6:00 PM EST.

• February 1st
• February 8th 
• February 22nd 

To register, please complete the following form and submit it along with the required fee. Payment can be sent via e-transfer to crobertson@softball.ca or by cheque payable to Softball Canada.

Please note that submitting the completed registration form and payment does not guarantee acceptance into the clinic. Candidates will be notified once they have been accepted into the online clinic.

The registration deadline for the online Level IV Clinic is January 21st. Please send the completed form and proof of payment to Brooke Beleza – Softball Canada.
