OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Team Canada wrapped up its participation at the 2026 USA Softball International Cup on Monday, falling 7-0 to the U.S. Women’s Elite Team at Devon Park.
The Americans scored in every inning but the third and steadily built their lead behind strong pitching from Ally Carda, who limited Canada to one hit over 4.1 innings.
The U.S. Women’s Elite Team opened the scoring in the first inning when Aleena Garcia delivered an RBI single to make it 1-0. The lead grew to 3-0 in the second inning. Taylor Shumaker doubled to center field to bring home a run before Morgan Zerkle added an RBI single down the left-field line.
Canada’s best offensive opportunity came in the fourth inning when Logan Forman (Brantford, Ont.) worked a one-out walk, but the Canadians were unable to generate further offence against the American pitching staff.
The U.S. Women’s Elite Team added two more runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run home run from Shumaker, before scoring twice again in the fifth. Alynah Gold connected for a solo home run, and the hosts later added another run to close out the scoring.
At the Plate
Natasha Limbani (Mississauga, Ont.) recorded Canada’s lone hit, finishing 1-for-2.
The Canadians were held to one hit and one walk while facing Ally Carda and Teagan Kavan, who combined to strike out six batters.
In the Circle
Annabel Teperson (Campbell River, B.C.) got the start for Canada and allowed three runs, two earned, on four hits over two innings.
Sara Groenewegen (White Rock, B.C.) followed with two innings of relief, allowing two runs while striking out one. Morgan Rackel (Calgary, Alta.) pitched the final third of an inning.

Tournament Summary
