The Canadian U23 Men’s National Team will play in the Placement Round of the 2026 U23 Men’s Softball World Cup after a 12-0 loss in four innings to Venezuela on Wednesday.
Key Moments:
Venezuela got on the board early with a two-run homerun in the top of the first and added a run in the third. The offence then exploded for nine runs in the fourth, including a pair of three-run homeruns. Canada was able to get four hits over four innings but was unable to move the runners around to score.
Notes:
- Nick White led Canada with two singles at the top of the lineup.
- Max Major and Blake Brubacher each added a single.
- Nic Neid got the start in the pitcher’s circle and allowed six runs on seven hits with four strikeouts over three plus innings.
- Brad Barker allowed four runs on four hits in one third of an inning, while Dale Schweyer allowed two unearned runs on two hits in two thirds of an inning.
