Ottawa, Ont. – Softball Canada is pleased to announce the rosters that will represent Canada at the 2026 Canada Cup Women’s International Softball Championship in Surrey, BC., from July 6-12.
Two Canadian teams will compete in the WBSC-sanctioned event, which will feature a total of 15 teams including some of the top national teams in women’s softball.
Team Canada will look to return to the top of the podium and avenge a 7-5 loss in the 2025 Gold Medal Game to Triple Crown Colorado. Team Canada has a strong history in the event, having most recently claimed Gold in 2024.
The Canadian Women’s National Team qualified for the 2027 WBSC Women’s World Cup Finals in Redcliffe, Australia after a first-place finish at the 2026 WBSC World Cup Group Stage held in Czechia this past week. The winner of the 2027 WBSC World Cup Finals will be the first team to qualify for the LA28 Olympic Summer Games.
Also representing Canada – and returning to the Canada Cup for the first time since 2018 – will be the Canada Elite Team.
The Elite Team is designed to strengthen Canada’s pool of National Team athletes leading up to the LA28 Olympic Games and is necessary for the program to remain competitive internationally with other top nations. The Elite Team creates more high-quality training and competition opportunities to identify, develop and evaluate more future National Team calibre athletes.
