Call for Indigenous Voices
Softball Canada is looking to gather stories for inclusion in our Indigenous Long-Term Participant Pathway. We are looking to focus on the relationship and perspective of Indigenous softball participants, coaches, umpires, and administrators. We are looking to acquire as many stories as possible to create a full representation of softball’s considerable history with Indigenous people.
The stories we are looking for can range from personal reflections to experiences that have been passed along through generations. This timeline will give Indigenous members of the softball community a chance to express their knowledge and share their histories. We are hoping to collect articles, photos, and stories.
Softball Canada will also look to highlight some of these stories visually, using video and some using audio and photographs.
Softball has a rich history with Indigenous people, and we want to ensure these narratives have an opportunity to be told. We are hoping that people of all ages and communities participate.
Softball Canada remains committed to doing its part in supporting the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and this is another step in that direction.
