COACH MENTORSHIP
Softball Canada's 18-month Mentorship Program is aimed at targeting potential/developing female softball coaches in Canada. The program is based upon the matching of a female mentee coach with a female mentor coach. The program is structured to meet the needs of each coach selected to the program and to enable an experience that will benefit the mentee, the mentor, and Softball in Canada.
DURATION OF PROGRAM
18 months.
GOALS
- To advance the careers and skill development of female coaches by providing a mentoring program with experienced and seasoned coaches
- To provide the opportunity for senior members to volunteer and contribute their knowledge in a direct and highly rewarding way
- To identify future leaders/mentors
- To develop future female coaches and increase the coaching pool within softball
PROGRAM ELEMENTS
In addition to the guided 18 month long formal mentee/mentor partnership, participating coach mentees will:
- Be provided free mentorship training
- Be exposed to networking opportunities with other coaches throughout Canada
- Have access to coaching and professional development opportunities
- Build leadership skills
COACH MENTEE ELIGIBILITY
- Female identifying
- 18+ years old
- Has an interest in further developing their softball coaching career
- Self-motivated and have a strong desire to learn and grow
- Shows passion and enthusiasm towards the role
- Reference letter from Provincial/Territorial/Local Association and/or a Co-Coach/Athlete
- In good standing with your Provincial/Territorial/Local association
