Phillips also brings with him a softball resume as a player and a true love of the game of fastpitch. A product of the CBC Minor Softball Association, the Marysvale native enjoyed success at the local, provincial and national levels. “As Chairperson of the 2019 Women’s Canadian Fastpitch Championship, I am honored to lead an experienced host committee as we welcome the top Canadian female fastpitch players to our beautiful province,” stated Phillips. “A sporting event of this magnitude and tradition provides great opportunity to grow the sport within our region, and as a host committee we commit to seeking out those opportunities and we are extremely excited to play host to an entertaining and competitive week of fastpitch.”

The 2019 Women’s Canadian Fastpitch Championship kicks off on Wednesday, August 14 and concludes on Sunday, August 18. In the weeks to come, more information on teams, schedules, and ticket prices will be available at Softball Canada’s official website at softball.ca/womens.
